One of the plant-based protein raw materials for pet food: soy protein isolate

Soybean is widely used in pet food as a vegetable protein raw material. Soybean has the advantages of low price and convenient procurement. At the same time, the protein content of soybean is very rich, generally around 40%, and some varieties can be as high as 52%. Soybean protein can regulate blood lipids, improve osteoporosis and Soybean is one of the most familiar and safe plant protein sources for most pet food manufacturers in terms of nutritional composition, local resources, and processing technology.

Soybean protein isolate is made of low-temperature soybean meal, using the principle of alkali dissolution and acid precipitation to extract protein and other soluble components, and then precipitate protein at the isoelectric point. The protein content is not less than 90% (on a dry basis). product. Its composition, structure and properties basically represent pure soybean protein.

The protein isolate of soybean protein is as high as 90%, and the digestibility can reach 93%-97%. It is composed of 18 kinds of amino acids. It is rich in nutrition and does not contain cholesterol. It is one of the few varieties of plant protein that can replace animal protein. .

Soybean protein isolate is divided into 2S, 7S, 11S and 15S four components according to the ultracentrifugation coefficient, of which 7S and 11S are the main components, accounting for about 70% of the total. Soy protein isolate exhibits good solubility in the range of neutral to slightly alkaline, and low solubility in acidic environment, with the lowest pH value around 4.5. When the glycinin solution is heated to 70 degrees Celsius, it can promote its polymerization, and low ionic strength can accelerate the polymerization.
